About Us

History

Dr. Hickey opened Pocoshock Animal Hospital in 1977 and developed it into a four year Accredited AAHA facility. In 1998, he opened Short Pump Animal Hospital (SPAH) in downtown Short Pump on Pouncey Tract Rd. In 1999, SPAH received its four year AAHA Accreditation, the highest level of accreditation offered by AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association).
