Charles W. Hickey, Jr. DVM 

  Dr. Charles W. Hickey, Jr. received his B.S. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1969, and his DVM from Kansas State University in 1973. In 1977, he founded Pocoshock Animal Hospital in Chesterfield County where he no longer  continues to practice. He has served as President of the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Association of Professions and the Central Virginia Veterinary Medical Association. He was the recipient of the Virginia Veterinarian of the Year Award in 1995 and received the Southeastern U.S. Practitioner Award in 1997. Dr. Hickey served as the Chairman of the Virginia State Board of Health and also served on the Board of Governors to the Virginia Council for Healthy Communities til 2005.  Dr. Hickey served on the Board of Directors of the American Animal Hospital Association from 2000-2010. Currently is on the  Board of Directors for  the Jack Russell Terrier of America, and  is past Vice-President for the Virginia Jack Russell Terrier Club 2004-2006.
 
Christine Morlino, Dvm
 
 Dr. Morlino received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1993 and her veterinary degree from the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997.  Originally from Williamsburg, she has lived and practiced in the Richmond area for the last 15 years.  Her special interests include geriatric medicine, dentistry, exotic animals and client education.  
She and her husband, Joe, have three children, a dog named Lexi, a fish named Swimmy, several goats and sheep and a Sicilian donkey named Giovanni. 
During her time off she enjoys hiking, traveling, spending time with friends and family and volunteering in the community.
 

Jennifer Lee, DVM

Dr. Lee has been in the Richmond area for many years. She does primarily relief work for several veterinarians, so many of you may have seen her before in your earlier dealings with other veterinary hospitals. She works as a relief Vet for us when we need her to fill in for one of the other vets. Dr. Lee is a graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Va. and enjoys a very great reputation as a talented and compassionate veterinarian.

Sally Hickey , Hospital Administrator of Short Pump Animal Hospital (SPAH)  :

Sally was the key decorator of our hospital. As you will notice when you come in, the facility has a very warm and personal touch to it. Sally is extremely sensitive to our patients' needs and will do whatever it takes to see to it that they receive the very best attention we can give. Sally has many pets of her own. She has a monkey named Baxter;  a Great Pyreness as well as fourteen Jack Russell Terriers of her own that she and Dr. Hickey show all over the United States. Sally is also past President of the Virginia Jack Russell Terrier Club from 2009-2010

 

Lillian Leno, Practice Manager:

 Lillian is our practice manager and also serves as a receptionist. Lillian has over 25 years experience in the animal care industry. Lillian is also a past President of the Virginia Jack Russell Terrier Club from 2005-2007 and has 12 of her own Jack Russells that she shows all over the United States with her husband Barry.  It is Lillian's responibility to keep things running smoothly at SPAH, so if you have concerns about our facilities, call Lillian and she will be glad to address whatever concerns you may have.

 

Anne Richards, Animal Care Coordinator / Receptionist:

 Anne is our Animal care coordinator/ receptionist and usually your first contact with our facility either by phone or in the mornings when you bring your pet in for services. She is responsible for greeting Clients for drop offs for treatment or grooming. She insures that all the animals have fresh water/ fleece bed and are walked, for just some of her duties at SPAH. She is a happy owner of 2 cats and 2 dogs, a Shepherd mix and a Rottweiler.

 

TracyTracy Jolliffe, LVT:

Tracey is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who joined SPAH in November of 2007. She is a graduate of Blue Ridge Community Collage in Weyer's Cave, Virginia. She is very enthusiastic about her profession and is dedicated to the patients who come here. Tracy and her husband  Todd live with three cats.

 
 
Jenn Jennifer (Jenn) Tucker, Receptionist
 
 She graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor's in Animal Science. She has over 12 years experience in the veterinary field and loves what she does everyday. She has a cat, Mia, who she hand raised,  a Corgi/Chihuahua mix, Rio which she rescued from ADRATI Rescue. She enjoys spending time with her husband, John, family and friends, pet-sitting, taking trips and turning those memories into scrapbooks.
 

Debbie Harris (LVT):

 Debbie is a 2008 graduate of Blue Ridge Community College; she joined us at SPAH as our newest Licensed Veterinary Technician. Debbie enjoys helping the staff and clients give the best of care to animals. She especially likes teaching children good pet care. Debbie lives on a tree farm in Goochland County with her husband, and two dogs Rascal,and Shadow, along with several chickens.
